Catherine Wheel — artist information
A Catherine Wheel performance is an exercise in controlled structural collapse, where feedback isn’t just noise but a living, breathing texture that drapes over the venue like heavy velvet. Guitars swell into colossal, distorted monoliths that threaten to liquify the floorboards, anchored by a rhythmic pulse that feels like a steady heartbeat under water. The crowd moves in a hypnotic, trance-like sway, caught in the undertow of sonic layers that oscillate between fragile, shimmering melodies and sudden, violent crescendos. It is a visceral, immersive submersion into a wash of glorious, relentless sound.
Genres: shoegaze, alternative.
