The Pastels — artist information
Watching them live feels like stumbling upon a secret, sun-drenched attic filled with lo-fi treasures. Their sound washes over the room in waves of jangly, unrefined guitar chords and stuttering rhythms that seem held together by sheer, optimistic intuition. There is a disarming intimacy to the performance, where the frayed edges of the melodies create an atmosphere of fragile, homespun comfort. The audience sways in a collective, gentle trance, caught in the bittersweet ache of songs that feel simultaneously dusty and vital, echoing with a quiet, persistent charm.
Genres: indie pop, twee, scottish, c86.
