The xx — artist information

The air at an The Xx show feels vacuum-sealed, a pressurized chamber of cavernous bass and skeletal guitar motifs that slice through the dark. Their live presence is an exercise in restraint, trading stadium spectacle for an intimate, hallowed hush that commands every lung in the room to hold its breath. Pulsing electronic undercurrents anchor the velvet atmosphere, transforming the crowd into a swaying, singular organism lost in a dreamscape of reverb. It is music experienced in the marrow—minimalist, haunting, and devastatingly precise.

Genres: indie, electronic, post-punk, british.
