Tony Kofi — artist information
The saxophone becomes a physical extension of the lungs, carving jagged, soulful lines through the air that vibrate deep within the floorboards. There is a palpable grit to the performance, where breathy, melancholic ballads abruptly collapse into frenetic, high-octane bebop pivots. The room thickens with the scent of brass and exertion, as the ensemble weaves intricate harmonic tapestries that feel both meticulously crafted and dangerously spontaneous. For the audience, it is a masterclass in tension, as every soaring high note forces the crowd into a collective, hushed suspension of breath.
Genres: saxophone, jazz.
