Montreux Jazz Festival — Festival information

Perched on the shimmering edge of Lake Geneva, the Montreux Jazz Festival transcends the limitations of its name, evolving into a sonic pilgrimage where jazz legends share the air with avant-garde electronic producers and indie darlings. As dusk settles over the Auditorium Stravinski, the tension between intimate musical perfection and stadium-sized electricity creates an atmosphere unlike anywhere else on the globe. Fans move fluidly between the grand, seated sophistication of the main stage and the pulse-pounding, open-air energy of the Scène du Lac, where the Alps serve as a dramatic backdrop to world-class soundscapes. This is a sanctuary where heritage meets the cutting edge, turning a Swiss resort town into the beating heart of the international music industry for two weeks each summer. Whether you are catching a masterclass-level performance from a drumming icon or getting lost in the synth-heavy depths of a late-night set, the experience remains etched in the psyche as a benchmark for live music.
