Log Every Copenhell Band You Saw, Year by Year

Copenhell runs for four days on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, across multiple stages. That is not one concert. Depending on how you pace yourself, it is somewhere between fifteen and forty separate performances — and by the following spring you will be able to name about six of them.

This is a guide to getting the rest back, edition by edition.

What Gigvault has on record

Two editions of Copenhell are documented here so far: 2025 and 2026.

One thing to be straight about: these are the acts Gigvault has recorded, not the festival's complete bill. Copenhell announces bands in waves over the best part of a year, and a database catches up in waves too. If you saw someone who is not on the list, that is a gap in the record and not a fault in your memory — the list is a memory aid, not a court document.

The 2026 bill

The top of 2026 needs no database. Iron Maiden headline, alongside Volbeat, Alice Cooper, Bring Me The Horizon, A Perfect Circle, Mastodon, Sepultura, Anthrax, Papa Roach, Babymetal, Suicidal Tendencies, Tom Morello, Queensrÿche, Saxon, Social Distortion and Trivium.

Then comes the part you will actually need help with: Black Label Society, Ice Nine Kills, Six Feet Under, Malevolence, Rival Sons, All Them Witches, Alestorm, Trollfest, Gaerea, Kublai Khan, Bury Tomorrow, Eyehategod, Vexed, Calva Louise, The Browning, Blood Fire Death, Mammoth, P.O.D., Faetooth, Morild, Black Oak County and Scimitar.

Three years from now, will you know whether you caught Gaerea or went for food? That is the gap this exists to close.

The 2025 bill

2025 was a different festival in almost every slot. Billy Idol, Dream Theater, King Diamond, Kreator, In Flames, Carcass, The Prodigy, Powerwolf, Exodus, Sodom, Bullet for My Valentine, Skunk Anansie, Skillet, Lorna Shore, Poppy, Myrkur, HARDY, Nestor, Gåte, Dethklok, Blood Incantation, Heaven Shall Burn, Sylosis, Kittie, Walls Of Jericho, Wiegedood, Will Haven, Fit For An Autopsy, Abbath, Conan, Alien Ant Farm, Anaal Nathrakh, Cabal, Castle Rat, Battlesnake, Slomosa, Gloryhammer, Myles Kennedy, Kim Dracula, Julie Christmas and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy all played.

Put the two years side by side and the useful point emerges: going twice does not mean seeing the same festival twice. The overlap between editions is small, so a second visit roughly doubles your list rather than repeating it. Which also means you cannot reconstruct one year from the other — each needs its own pass.

Why it is the small names that vanish

Everyone remembers the headliner. That is exactly why the headliner is the least valuable entry in a concert history: it is the one fact you were never going to lose, and the one everybody else who was there also has.

What disappears is the 14:30 slot on the second stage. The band you had never heard of, watched for four songs, thought were good, and never looked up again. Two years later the name is gone, so functionally you never saw them. Across two festivals that is dozens of performances quietly falling out of your own history.

Writing "Copenhell 2025" in a notebook records the name of a festival. It does not record a single band.

How to tick off your Copenhell

• Open the Copenhell page and pick the year you were there.
• Work down the line-up and mark everyone you actually stood in front of — including the ones you only caught half of.
• Do the years separately. Because the bills barely overlap, there is no shortcut from one to the other.
• Add photos, notes and the people you went with. Who was there fades fastest and matters most later.
• Check the setlists. They come in automatically, and the songs often tell you which day you were on.

Everything you tick feeds your stats and your Concert Wrapped — the year as you actually spent it, not as you meant to.

Copenhagen does not stop at Copenhell

Gigvault currently tracks 76 shows in Copenhagen across the city's venues, and Jelling is on record with 40 bands — a very different festival for a very different crowd, and worth a pass of its own if you were there.

Tick off Copenhell and add the club shows around it, and you end up with something no drawer of ticket stubs gives you: every band you have watched play in Denmark, with dates attached, searchable.

If you do one festival properly, do the rest

The same problem applies to every festival you have been to, and the same fix works. Start with the year you remember best. The other one comes back faster than you expect once the names are in front of you.
