Salzburg — City information

Beyond the classical grandeur, Salzburg hums with a surprising contemporary pulse. While Mozart's legacy casts a long, beautiful shadow, the city’s live music scene thrives with intimate jazz clubs tucked into medieval alleys, and indie rock acts shaking the rafters of larger halls like Rockhouse. Summer explodes with the Salzburg Festival's world-renowned opera and orchestral majesty, but spring and fall bring burgeoning electronic and folk music showcases to venues like the Republic. You'll find a sophisticated blend of traditional artistry and a burgeoning modern energy, peaking during the festive holiday season with baroque brilliance.
