Metastadt Open Air — Festival information
Tucked into the industrial, concrete veins of Vienna, Metastadt Open Air transforms a gritty urban wasteland into a sprawling playground for sonic exploration. The festival rejects the sanitized aesthetic of traditional venues, instead embracing the raw interplay between brutalist architecture and the eclectic pulse of modern music. From the hip-hop legends of Cypress Hill to the dreamlike downtempo textures of Air, the lineup defies genre, uniting an adventurous crowd under the flickering silhouettes of cranes and steel. It is a rare space where the historical gravitas of Austria’s capital meets the uncompromising, forward-thinking rhythm of the global underground. Standing in the heart of Metastadt, you feel less like you’re at a concert and more like you’re witnessing the city’s next evolution in real-time.
