Malzwiese — Festival information
Tucked away in the industrial cathedral of Berlin’s Malzfabrik, Malzwiese transforms a historic brick-and-mortar malthouse into an intimate sanctuary for indie-pop escapism. The festival curates an eclectic sonic tapestry, weaving together the offbeat charisma of artists like Bonaparte with the atmospheric, dream-pop textures of acts like Lola Marsh and Leyya. Here, the cavernous, raw architecture of the past collides with a meticulously curated modern lineup, fostering an atmosphere that feels less like a corporate production and more like a secret garden party for the city’s culture seekers. Crowds drift between echoing stone chambers and sun-drenched outdoor pockets, shedding the frantic pace of the capital for a communal, low-pressure celebration of discovery. It serves as a vital bridge between Berlin’s storied industrial heritage and its restless, evolving alternative music scene, proving that the most resonant memories are made in the gaps between the mainstream.
