Alte Drahtzieherei — Venue information
Tucked away in the industrial heart of Wipperfürth, the Alte Drahtzieherei transforms the raw, cavernous skeleton of a former wire-drawing factory into an electrifying sonic sanctuary. The venue’s vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork create a rare acoustic intimacy, allowing everything from thumping rock anthems and blues-soaked riffing to polished cabaret acts to resonate with unfiltered intensity. Audiences find themselves pressed against the stage, caught in a friction between the building's stark, historical grit and the modern, high-fidelity light shows that slice through the shadows. It serves as the region’s cultural pulse, anchoring the community by hosting touring heavyweights alongside local legends who thrive in the room's unpretentious, sweat-soaked energy. Whether you are leaning against a support beam or navigating the bustling pit, the experience feels less like a concert and more like a visceral communion with the music. For those seeking the antithesis of a sterile arena, this space offers a gritty, authentic embrace that defines the very soul of the local nightlife scene.
